Inmate Found Unresponsive, Dies Days Later

CARSON CITY, NV - The Nevada Department of Corrections reports on October 21, 2013, inmate Joseph Oxford-McArthur was found unresponsive in his single cell at Northern Nevada Correctional Center and was transported to Carson Tahoe Hospital.

Oxford-McArthur died late Friday, October 25, 2013. This death is under investigation and no further details have been released.

Oxford-McArthur had been incarcerated with the NDOC since July of 2013 and was serving a 12- to 36-month sentence for Domestic Battery 3rd Offense out of Churchill County.
