Stagnant, dry weather will continue through Friday morning, with sunny-hazy skies, light wind, and very cold mornings. The ridge of high pressure will start to weaken late this week. As a system slides north and then east of the region, it should bring enough of a boost in wind flow to erode valley inversions. This change will bring cleaner, milder air for Friday afternoon into the weekend. A storm system looks possible in the middle of next week, although the track is still uncertain. There has been an outpouring of support from Northern Nevada for horse owners in Southern California who have been affected by the wildfires. They have collected supplies to send to evacuation centers and they are not done with their efforts yet.
