Large Accident East of Fernley
Last Updated: 1:33 PM 11/20/09 - Westbound I-80 is closed at mile marker 74 east of Fernley due to a large traffic accident. The Nevada Highway Patrol says 4 semi-trucks and 2 pick-up trucks are involved. At least one person has died. Click for Full Story

A cold front moving in over the Sierra today is giving us wind gusts in excess of 60mph in the valley. The wind will not calm down until the late afternoon when the rain starts falling.

High Winds Cause Power Outages

About 3,100 customers in Stead and Cold Springs were without power Friday morning. The power outage was related to the extreme wind conditions, most probably the power lines slapping together or blowing debris.

Nevada Unemployment Rate Falls To 13%

Nevada's unemployment rate leveled out a bit in October, at 13%. This decline is the first drop since the rate began rising in 2008.
