RENO, NV - There's a new workout craze that's made for everyone, and personal trainers say it really helps strengthen your core.

It's hard to say no to those holiday treats this time of year, and sometimes it's hard to find motivation to get to the gym when it's so cold outside.

Lisa Gonzalez spends her day helping people get into shape and live healthier lives. One training tool she uses is TRX, a suspension training made for just about everyone.

"An elite athlete or someone with physical limitations can get on a suspension trainer and work not only on their upper body and their core all at the same time," says Gonzalez.

One of Lisa's clients has Cerebral Palsy. She's been training him for the past year. The progress he's made after training on TRX, she says is unbelievable.

"He actually got up on a wake board this summer for the first time," says Gonzalez.

The suspension training allows you to make your workout as hard, or as easy as you want. All you have to do is change your body position.

Lisa says you can make up your own exercises on the TRX as long as it's not painful.

"There's an unlimited amount of exercises you can do," says Gonzalez.

Lisa showed us the difference between pulling weights on a row machine versus a row workout on the TRX.

When on the TRX she says, "here's your row working the core now, because my center of balance has been displaced," says Gonzalez.

TRX can be added to your everyday workout, it shouldn't replace it.
