Pinterest is Emerging Web Craze

RENO, NV - The popular social networking sites Facebook, YouTube and Twitter have changed the way we keep in touch with friends, search for jobs, and watch TV.

Now another site called Pinterest seems to be taking the internet by storm.

The makers of the site describe it as an online "pin board" where you gather images from across the web in one place.

From recipes to decorating ideas, fan pages or fashion, users create collections based on their interest.

Each of those collections becomes a “board” of glossy photos that seem to make time stand still.

“I don't know what it is, but you could be on there for days,” says user Kristin Wood. “There's so much there… so many different things.”

Your collections will continue to build as you “pin” images that you like, because more similar images will be directed to your homepage.

Pinterest is designed to link with your other social networking accounts so you can share your favorites with friends on Facebook or Twitter.

Some have even begun using the enticing layout as a new way to promote their business.

The site has been around for about two years but has skyrocketed in popularity over the last few months.

It’s now listed as one of the Top 5 Social Networking sites according to Experian’s Hitwise.

To start a Pinterest account you will need an invitation from someone you know or the site itself.

You can request an invitation by going to the address below, and clicking on the red “Request an Invite” button at the top of the page.
