HOUSTON (AP) - The "Star Trek" shuttlecraft Galileo is landing in Houston -- to be displayed not far from NASA's Mission Control, which may have been able to help Mr. Spock all those years ago.
The Galileo is the shuttlecraft that crash-landed on a hostile planet in the 1967 episode "The Galileo Seven."
The Houston Chronicle reports the bit of Trekkie memorabilia was purchased by collector Adam Schneider for $61,000.
Schneider restored the rusted prop to its previous glory. It will be displayed in the visitor center of Space Center Houston alongside real NASA spacecrafts.
Schneider says the trailer-sized shuttle will arrive in Houston in late July.
Space Center Houston spokesman Jack Moore says the Galileo will be installed by the end of the year.
