NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The publicist for country music star Randy Travis says the singer is out of surgery following a stroke and remains in critical condition in a Texas hospital.
Doctors performed surgery following a stroke to relieve pressure on Travis' brain Wednesday evening, just hours after they had noted improvement in his condition.
There was no other word on Travis' condition late Wednesday. He is being treated at The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano. Webster asked for prayers for the Grammy Award-winning singer earlier in the evening.
It was not clear what kind of stroke Travis suffered. He was hospitalized Sunday after a respiratory illness spread to his heart, leading to congestive heart failure.
