LOS ANGELES (AP) - With a 25-minute bump in the schedule, Jimmy Kimmel says he's now that much closer to his lifelong dream of co-hosting another ABC network show - "The View."
And so the comedian with an aversion to change on Tuesday took on the biggest change to hit late-night television so far in 2013: an 11:35 p.m. East Coast start time for "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" The move, complete with a studio overhaul, puts Kimmel on the air at the same time as CBS' David Letterman and NBC's Jay Leno.
Kimmel says he won't change his style for the move, pushing aside conventional wisdom that edgier late-night humor won't play before the clock strikes midnight.
But that doesn't mean he's not second-guessing himself. He tells Phoenix's ABC15 News he's "cautiously pessimistic."
Kimmel attended Arizona State University for two years and has family in the Phoenix area.
