MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - He's competed in the culinary Olympics and produced countless gourmet dishes for southern West Virginia's world-class resort, The Greenbrier.
But chef Richard Rosendale says he faces his greatest challenges on the set of "Recipe Rehab," a CBS Saturday morning show that begins airing Sept. 28.
Families submit a favorite high-calorie recipe, and two chefs compete to crank out healthier, lower-calorie versions.
Rosendale resigned from The Greenbrier in June and competes in 11 episodes against California chef Vikki Krinsky.
He's a native of Uniontown, Pa., and worked in Pittsburgh before opening a restaurant in Columbus, Ohio.
Rosendale also is a father of two in a state struggling with an obesity epidemic.
He says it's important to be part of a show that's not only entertaining, but has an important message about healthy eating.
