RENO, NV - Alternative Rock radio KRZQ is back on the air in Reno, on 104.1FM.
Shamrock Broadcasting has resurrected the format after Wilks Broadcasting dropped it last year from 100.9FM. The new station retains the call letters, format and even some previous format disc jockeys, including Smilin' Marty in the morning and Chris Payne in the afternoon.
Shamrock is putting four entirely new stations on the air in Reno, with a talk station already on the air on 107.3FM and another station, Martini 105.3, launching Monday with just music and no commercials or disc jockeys yet. It plays such artists as Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble and Norah Jones.
A fourth station, format not yet announced, will go on the air later this year.
