RENO, Nev. (December 15, 2008) — Award Winning Artist, Glen Tarnowski will display his vibrant collection in the Eldorado Hotel Casino’s Gold Room Gallery. The artists’ reception will be held on Friday, January 2, 2009, 5-8pm. The reception will feature delicious hours d’oeuvres, champagne and a welcome from the artist himself.
Nearly 40 of Tarnowski’s whimsical, inspirational and paradoxical paintings will be on display, as well as several hand-crafted wax sculptures cast in bronze. All pieces are currently available for viewing and purchase.
Tarnowski’s artistic point of view is to create work that fills people with motivation, faith, hope and purpose.
He uses what he calls “modern poetic allegories” and Chiaroscuro techniques to create still-lifes with a vibrant dichotomy of old world feeling and contemporary realism.
Tarnowski paintings are in the permanent collections such as: National Gallery of Victoria, The National Gallery of Australia, the Brooklyn Museum of Art., the Boca Museum of Fine Art: Florida and the Aspen Art Museum in Colorado.
He has received several awards including Angel Winner Award, the Artist Magazine International Competition and the Oil Painters of America Regional and National Shows. He has also been featured in The Artist’s Magazine.
Tarnowski completed his formal art education at California Lutheran University and The Pasadena Art Center College of Design. He later returned to California Lutheran University to teach painting.
