RENO, Nev. (May 6, 2008) -- This summer, the best BBQ, Brews & Blues combine to take over Virginia Street in front of the Eldorado Hotel Casino. The 13th Annual Great Eldorado BBQ, Brews & Blues festival kicks off the summer street festivals in downtown Reno, Saturday, June 28 from 11-9 p.m.
Microbreweries from around the world will post along Virginia Street and pour cool and frothy microbrews from 11-8 p.m. Festival goers can choose from a selection of the Eldorado's own Brew Brothers' custom microbrews as well as creations from the region's best breweries. Sample brews from a number of award winning breweries including Black Diamond Brewing Company, Big Sky Brewing Company, Anchor Brewing Company, Buckbean Brewing Company, Napa Smith Brewery, Wyder’s Cider and many more.
Hearty foods will also be sold street side including savory ribs, grilled chicken, spicy sausage and more fresh food from the outdoor charbroil grill. Fresh Margaritas and flavorful daiquiris, as well as premium cigars and souvenir merchandise are also available at the festival. Live entertainment will be on every corner of the festival, all day. This year, guests will enjoy performances from The Tommy Castro Band, Coco Montoya, The Classic Rock AllStars, The Buddy Emmer Band, The Shane Dwight Blues Band, Burn The Floor’s “FloorPlay,” JC Smith, Brad Wilson and Briefcase Full of Blues.
B.B. King is set to perform in the Reno Ballroom at 8 p.m. during the festival.
Kick off the 2008 BBQ, Brews & Blues Festival weekend with the Microbrew Pub Crawl inside the Eldorado. The event starts at 8 p.m., Friday, June 27 and crawls to Vito’s bar, The Ringside Bar, The Stadium Bar and The Showroom Bar, all located on the casino floor. For just $20, get a collector’s mug; sample eight handcrafted brews from our featured selections of Stella Artois, Sam Adams Summer, Shock Top, Radeberger Pilsner, Spaten Premium, Pyramid Hefewiesen, Newcastle Ale, Fat Tire, Mammoth IPA as well as brews from Alaskan Brewery, Big Sky Brewery and Deshutes Brewery. For just $2, receive refills in your collector’s mug all night. During the crawl, vie for a chance to pull from the Eldorado’s Treasure Chest of prizes.
Brew fans don’t have to wait until June for one of a kind brews, pub food or blues; The Brew Brothers, inside the Eldorado, is the only Northern Nevada casino microbrewery serving up pub food and fresh brews seven nights a week. Named “Best Brewpub in America” by Nightclub and Bar Magazine, The Brew Brothers is downtown’s hot-spot for live music and rich microbrews.
