The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds are returning to Reno this fall for the National Championship Air Races and this time they'll be bringing along an especially stealthy friend.
Sen. Harry Reid joined Air Race officials in announcing on Tuesday that the F-22 Raptor will be one of the headliners along with the precision demonstration team at the 48th annual Air Races.
More than 200,000 people regularly attend the event that will be held Sept. 14-18 at Reno-Stead Airport.
Built less than a decade ago, the F-22 Raptor can cruise at more than 1.5 times the speed of sound. It's a perfect fit for this year's theme, "No Limits," recognizing the record-breaking speeds, innovative flight technology and the ever-changing world of aviation.

I had the pleasure of seeing the F22 at the Reno Air show 2 years ago...what a neat spectacle...definately worth going, if just to see this thing zipping through the sky!
