Dream Dinners is the originator of the meal-assembly concept that just got healthier. Now, folks looking to cut fat, sugar, sodium, or create any other type of special diet menu can do so in the same fast-paced, assembly-style dream dinners way.
Juli McKean is the Dream Dinners Store Manager in Carson City. She says the menu recipes are already prepared. "Some favorites come back, but new recipes are constantly coming in. Dream Dinners is a customer's kitchen away from home. You don't have to clean, you don't have to shop, you just come in and prepare your meals to take home. Put them in the freezer and pull them out as you're ready to cook them."
Dream Dinners worked closely with dieticians and physicians to create a menu for those with diabetes looking for low sodium, low carb and low sugar meals. Guests register online for a one and a half or two hour session to make twelve meals, which puts three dinners on the table each week.
Customers then go to their local Dream Dinners store to assemble meals as they rotate from station to station, putting the different measured ingredients into Zip Lock bags or foil pans to be cooked that week, or frozen for later. Overall, it saves an average of ten hours a week on shopping, prep-work and clean-up, a great solution for the stress of dinnertime.
The cost per serving is less than five dollars, a healthy option that's cheaper than eating out. While studies show, 30% of grocery store food is thrown out, with Dream Dinners there is zero waste.
Dream Dinners customer Wendi Fauria says, "Dream Dinners has all the condiments and ingredients to put in the meals so you don't have to buy a whole bottle of Thyme and use just an eighth of it and waste the rest. That's really great, and it's less expensive because they've got it all here."
While customers cook, Dream Dinners lets them sample other offerings from the menu. It's a fun social atmosphere great for date night or girls night out, and the best part is it's healthy. For more information visit www.dinnersforlife.com.
