Health Access Washoe County, or HAWC, is one of the recipients of AWCMS grant funding. Past President Jean Myles says AWCMS volunteers come from all different backgrounds, but are all dedicated to improving the health of the community.
That's why HAWC was chosen to receive grant funding.

HAWC is a non-profit organization that provides health care to the needy. Grant money from AWCMS helped HAWC pay for a state of the art digital x-ray machine. That's the mission of AWCMS, to provide money to areas in the community where it will help the most.

HAWC Executive Director Michael Rodolico says, "we wouldn't be able to provide the level of service without that digital x-ray machine. We would be stuck with our old machine, which was 1953 technology, so this was a big leap forward for us."
