WASHINGTON (AP) - Members of Congress heading home for the July
Fourth recess can expect to hear from seniors curious about why
Congress allowed a 10 percent cut in fees for doctors who treat
Medicare patients.

Physicians are running ads hinting patients may find doctors
less willing to treat them.

Beginning tomorrow, payments will be cut for some 600,000
doctors who treat Medicare patients. That's because a formula
requires fee cuts when spending exceeds established goals. Almost
every year, Congress blocks the cut.

Lawmakers unwilling to face millions of angry seniors at the
polls in November are expected to act quickly to reverse the cut
when they return to Washington next week. They're also expected to
provide retroactive payments to doctors for losses incurred after
July 1st.

Doctors have complained for years that Medicare payments have
failed to cover rising costs.

I work for a large hospital, and I see how Medicare rates effect our selfpay patients. We have to make up for the huge discounts we give to Medicare by raising our rates.

All seniors and anyone in need of Medicine can call the Montel Williams program for there medicine. to get free medicine, or a low co pay for help with medicine, you call 1-800-4PP-ANOW, you give them your medicines dosage, they take the information down and send you a packet in the mail to fill out, you take this to your doctor and he or she will give you a prescription for your medicine, you then send in your income information, your doctor or Medical Assistant will help you with this, You will get your authorization right away and even if you are in need right away they will give your medical assistant an automation number and you can pick up your medicine that same day at your pharmacy. I would like to see more on what seniors and those without medicines can do if they have there medicines cut and have to pay full price. It is ok to show the cuts but better for the media to show what they can do if this happends. Proud to work for Renown
