RENO, Nev. (AP) - Authorities say two men are facing drug
charges after a police dog alerted Nevada Highway Patrol troopers
to methamphetamine hidden in a pickup truck's air conditioning
vents.
Kennith Clark, 24, of Fernley and Juan Nunez, 38, of Sanger,
Calif., were booked into the Washoe County Jail on Monday night.
NHP spokesman Chuck Allen said a trooper noticed the 2001 F-150
Ford pickup driven by Clark had expired license plates and a gas
cap hanging off the vehicle when he pulled it over on Interstate 80
near the Boomtown exit.
During the traffic stop, a K-9 from the Washoe County Sheriff's
Office alerted troopers to the air conditioning vent where they
found a plastic bag filled with about 6.2 ounces of
methamphetamine, Allen said.
