RENO, Nev. (KOLO) Nevada softball assistant coach and Reno native Brianne Durfee will be inducted into the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association Hall of Fame as one of nine other people in this year’s class. During her four-year career at Wooster HS, Durfee put together what is considered one of the most successful careers in Nevada high school softball.
“There have been so many influential people that have played a big role in high school athletics for our state and to be mentioned in the same stature as them is a really humbling honor,” Durfee said.
Her name is written all over the Nevada state record book as she finds herself throughout the wins, strikeouts and ERA categories. In four years, Durfee led the Colts to four consecutive 4A state titles and was named the state’s Gatorade Player of the Year in her junior and senior seasons.
Along with her softball accolades, Durfee also received All-Region selections in basketball and volleyball, earning a total of 12 varsity letters in her four years. The Hall of Fame induction is scheduled to take place on March 22 in the Capri Ballroom at the Perppermill Resort Casino & Spa.
