UConn's Williams named a finalist for the Senior CLASS Award

STORRS, Conn. (KOLO) UConn's Gabby Williams is one of 10 women's basketball players in the country named a finalist for the Senior CLASS Award.

It awards the top student-athlete that excels in the community, classroom, character and competition.

Williams is averaging 10.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, five assists and 2.5 steals per game for the top-ranked Huskies.

She is just the second player in school history to have at least 900 rebounds, 400 assists and 250 career steals.

The former Reed high school star was named a preseason All-American by the Associated Press.

The Senior CLASS winner will be decided by votes, and be announced during the Final Four.
