Spanish Springs grad Alyssa Batastini named MW Pitcher of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Mountain West Press Release) - Colorado State’s Haley Hutton has been named Mountain West Softball Player of the Week, while Alyssa Batastini of UNLV earned MW Pitcher of Week honors for games held March 1-6. It is the second career MW weekly accolade for Hutton, while Batastini garners the first of her career.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
HALEY HUTTON, COLORADO STATE
Junior, Shortstop, Platteville, Colorado / Valley HS

Helped lead Colorado State to a 4-1 week, including a 3-1 mark in the Colorado State Classic.
Finished the week batting .643 (9-of-14) with eight runs scored, five RBIs, four triples, a home run and three stolen bases.
Registered a .750 on-base percentage and a 1.429 slugging percentage.
In four games at the Colorado State Classic, had 19 total bases with four triples and the Rams’ first inside-the-park home run since 2006.
Went 4-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs, two runs scored and two triples in CSU’s 10-6 win over Nebraska-Omaha on March 6.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
ALYSSA BATASTINI, UNLV
Freshman, RHP, Reno, Nevada / Spanish Springs HS

Appeared in four games with one start last week for UNLV.
Posted a 2-0 record with a 0.00 earned-run average over 14 2/3 innings pitched.
Received the start versus Southern Utah on March 3, tossing 6.0 innings, giving up just three hits and one unearned run as the Rebels captured a 6-1 victory.
Picked up the second win of the week after coming out of the bullpen against Drake on March 5.
Threw 3.0 innings against the Bulldogs, while surrendering no runs on just one hit.
