SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO) Former Reed high school pitcher Julia Jensen has been named a first team All-American by both FloSoftball and MaxPreps.
She led the Raiders to a 35-4 record and the Northern Title as a senior. She went 31-2 with a 0.94 ERA. She had 386 strikeouts and just 24 walks in 209.1 innings pitched.
She also batted .438 with 11 home runs and 39 RBI.
Jensen earned the All-American honors as a pitcher by FloSoftball and as a utility player by MaxPreps.
She was also named the Gatorade State Softball Player of the Year last month for the second time in her career.
Jensen was named the Northern Nevada Player of the Year three times in her career. Her 99 career wins are the most in Nevada state history. And she's one of just three players to ever record over 1,000 career strikeouts.
She has already signed to play college softball at Nevada next year.
