SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO) Reed high school senior Cameron Emerson has been named the Tuff Shed Stud of the Week by the Sports Caravan.

"Honestly I've just got to give thanks to the coaching staff and the kids around me," said Emerson.

He threw five touchdowns in the first half last week in the Raiders' 62-13 playoff win over Galena. He also broke the school record for most career TD passes.

"Everything we've been through this year and we've been able to start clicking these past weeks heading into the playoffs, which is really great," added Emerson.

"I think he's a landmark guy here at this school," said head coach Tony Amantia. "A great character kid; does everything the right way on and off the field. Great in the classroom; great community kid. We're super proud that he represents us at quarterback."

3rd-ranked Reed (9-2) plays at top-ranked Damonte Ranch (11-0) on Friday night in the Northern Semifinals. Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm.
