RENO, Nev. (KOLO) Bishop Manogue running back Peyton Dixon has been honored as the Tuff Shed Stud of the Week by the Sports Caravan.

"It feels really good, definitely great to be recognized," said Dixon.

Dixon ran for 244 yards on 31 carries in the Miners' 40-14 win over Galena, scoring three rushing touchdowns.

"I think he just stayed the course," said head coach Ernie Howren. "There was a couple times there early on we weren't getting what we wanted out of the run game and he just kept staying with what we've been talking about all week long in the scouting report. And you can see the results. "

"I also have to give a shout out to my coaches and my lineman for helping me to get the job done," added Dixon. "I have the right holes to hit and I was hitting them well and everything was definitely going together well."

Dixon is leading the Northern 4A with 1,471 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns this season.

4th-ranked Bishop Manogue (7-2) plays at top-ranked Damonte Ranch (8-0) on Thursday.
