DAVIS, Calif. – Senior Erika Hansen recorded her seventh home run of the season, but her four RBIs on the day was not enough as the Nevada softball team fell to UC Davis on Thursday by a score of 9-4. The loss now moves the Wolf Pack to 10-11 on the year as the Aggies move to 12-7.
Hansen quickly put the Pack ahead in the top of the third with one swing of the bat, launching her seventh home run of the season with the bases loaded to give Nevada a 4-0 lead. She has now hit a home run in seven of her past nine games, including four consecutive contests.
The Aggies responded though in the bottom of the fourth, plating five runs to take a 5-4 lead into the fifth. UC Davis scored four more times the inning and held a five-run advantage for the rest of the game as the deficit proved to be too much for the Pack overcome with the Aggies taking the 9-4 victory.
Sophomore Sadaria McAlister went 1-for-4 with a double on the day and has now hit safely in 14 of her last 15 games. Up next, Nevada will square up against Valparaiso on Friday morning at 9 a.m. PT.
