RENO, Nev. (KOLO) Galena high school running back Tommy Corcoran has been honored as the Tuff Shed Stud of the Week by the Sports Caravan.

"I think the O-Line did a pretty good job and I think that helped a lot," said Corcoran. "And I think we just got a little more aggressive this week and kind of let it loose."

He ran for 212 yards on 26 carries in the Grizzlies' 48-28 win at Douglas, scoring four touchdowns.

"He's got the speed; he's tough. He's smart," said head coach Steve Struzyk. "He's been in this program for four years. And he didn't play much running back last year as a junior, so I think he was really looking forward to being our running back his senior year."

Corcoran has run for 754 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, averaging 4.9 yards per carry.

Galena (5-3) hosts top-ranked Damonte Ranch (9-0) in the regular season finale on Friday at 7pm
