Damonte's Jacobs named Tuff Shed Stud of the Week

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) Damonte Ranch senior Dru Jacobs has been honored as the Tuff Shed Stud of the Week by the Sports Caravan.

"It feels great," said Jacobs. "I'm honored to have received this. Cade received it last year, and it's kind of nice to have that brotherhood of Studs."

Jacobs caught six passes for 150 yards and three touchdowns in the Mustangs' 46-16 win over Northgate on Friday night. He also returned a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown.

"He's extremely fast and obviously catches the ball really well," said Damonte Ranch head coach Shawn Dupris. "Not only on offense, but on defense. He had a pick-six that was called back due to a not very smart play on our part. So he's just an explosive athlete and when the ball gets in his hands, good things happen."

Jacobs accounted for 325 total yards in the season-opening win, which moved them up 157 spots in the MaxPreps rankings. They're now ranked 121st in the national high school football rankings; third in the state of Nevada.

Damonte Ranch plays Edison on Friday night down in Fresno, California.
