SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO)-- As work on the Pyramid Way and McCarran Boulevard intersection is winding down, the Regional Transportation Commission starts work Tuesday on Sparks Boulevard between Baring Boulevard and the Pyramid Highway.
The slurry seal will take place from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Sept. 9. Overnight striping will be from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Sept. 14. At least one lane will stay open, the city of Sparks said in press release. During peak traffic hours, there will be no construction in the southbound lanes prior to 9 a.m. or on the northbound lanes after 3 p.m.
Contractor Sierra Nevada Construction will use a flagger at major intersections.
A harsh winter accelerated deterioration of roads like Sparks Boulevard that are near the end of their life cycle.
