Wolf Pack announces two assistant coach hires

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) Nevada head coach Jay Norvell announced two additions to his coaching staff on Tuesday night.

David White has been hired as the running backs coach. White played college ball at UNLV, before becoming the head football coach at Bishop Gorman high school. He also spent time on the coaching staff at Oklahoma.

Courtney (Chip) Viney has been hired as the cornerbacks coach. Viney spent the last four seasons at Oklahoma, first as a graduate assistant, then as the Sooners special teams quality control coach. Viney was also a key recruiter at Oklahoma.

Tonight's news follows a report by FootballScoop.com that Nevada is expected to hire Timmy Chang as the inside WR coach, Eric Scott as the outside WR coach, and Mason Miller as the offensive line coach.

They join a staff that is nearly complete. Matt Mumme has been hired as the offensive coordinator and Jeff Casteel is the defensive coordinator. Matt Kirk is expected to become the new safeties coach.
