School naming committee holds first meeting

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The Washoe County School District is opening the submission process for naming a new elementary school in the South Meadows area. The school will begin construction soon, and is scheduled to open in August 2019.

Members of the community are encouraged to submit suggestions for the school name. The School Naming Committee will vet those submissions and the Board of Trustees will make the final decision.

The School Naming Committee will hold its first public meeting Wednesday, August 2, at 5:30 p.m. at AACT High School at 380 Edison Way in Reno. Agenda here.
