RENO, Nev. (KOLO)- Washoe County's Regional Emergency Operations Center (REOC) held an active shooter preparedness meeting Tuesday.

The event came after a shooting took place in downtown Reno when a man in the Montage Condominiums fired several shots onto Sierra Street from the east side of an 8th floor unit November 28, 2017.

The event was open to businesses and was held at the REOC. Law Enforcement and Security Directors were at the meeting to discuss preparedness in this day and age of active shooters/active assailant events.

The Sheriff's office was there, and gave tips on what you should do if you find yourself in an active shooter situation. Washoe County Emergency Manager Aaron Kenneston and Reno-Sparks Chamber also talked about how businesses could be better prepared.
