Two fires in mop-up at Pyramid Lake

PYRAMID LAKE, Nev. (KOLO) - Volunteers are mopping up fires that burned Saturday night in the Pyramid Lake area.

Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District Chief Charlie Moore says the first fire June 17, 2017 likely started due to embers being thrown. He says that evolved into two separate fires.

Each burned about two acres.

Chief Moore says volunteers had responded with a water assist and were able to get a good handle on the fire. Volunteers from Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and Pyramid Lake are mopping up.
