RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Traveling during Thanksgiving week is known to be very busy. However, Triple A projects this year will be the busiest since 2005.

If you are traveling during this busy week, there are ways to make it easier.

Airport officials from Reno-Tahoe International Airport suggest you arrive at least 90 minutes prior to your flight departure. If you are planning to park, expect to park far since it is usually busy this holiday season.

According to Triple A, close to 51 million Americans will be heading 50 miles or more away from home this Thanksgiving. Here are the statistics:

-1.6 million more people are expected to travel in 2017 than they did last year, making it the busiest Thanksgiving since 2005.

-Air travel numbers are expected to be up 5% to nearly 4 million travelers this year.

-An estimated 45 million are planning a Thanksgiving road trip.
