RENO, Nev. (KOLO) -- Life can be tough for injured veterans, but one nonprofit is making sure it's worth living.
The High Fives Foundation, a 2018 KOLOCares Pillar Partner, will host 22 injured veterans from March 11th -17th, 2018 for the Military to the Mountains program at Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows.
Prior to arriving to the slopes, the injured veterans participated in 9-week training program with the goal to with the goal of readying their bodies for adaptive skiing lessons.
March 11, 2018, the veterans will fly into Reno-Tahoe International Airport and the public is invited to help welcome them into the area. The public is welcome to meet at the Airport Ski Statue at 7:45 pm.
