CARSON CITY, Nev. (KOLO) -

The Nevada State Treasurer’s Office third annual online auction of unclaimed property runs through February 21.

The items being sold come from abandoned safe deposit boxes which are turned over to the state after three years of dormancy.

The items for sale include lots of jewelry, coins, currency (including several silver certificate dollar bills) and other items.

“Last year’s online auction was a major success,” Grant Hewitt, treasurer’s office chief of staff, said in a statement. “I’m confident there is something for every type of collector, you really never know what kind of treasurers you may find to add to your collection.”

Proceeds from the sales go to the original owners or their heirs when claimed.
