Sparks police report spike in thefts of RV propane tanks and batteries

SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO)-- The Sparks Police Department said there has been a spike in the theft of recreational vehicle propane tanks and batteries recently.

They are asking for the public’s help in finding the thief or thieves and they remind people to protect their property.

The batteries and propane tanks were stolen from recreational vehicles parked in driveways and on city streets in various places in Sparks. At least one time a dark sports utility vehicle was seen in the area at the time of the theft.

Police ask people to secure their propane tanks and batteries and leave on lights to deter thieves. People can also call police to report suspicious vehicles in their neighborhood.
