RENO, Nev. (KOLO) There will be a new State champion in Division I softball, after the Reed Raiders were eliminated on Friday.

Spanish Springs earned their spot in the title game, by upsetting the Raiders 6-2. The Cougars were finally able to get to Julia Jensen, who had pitched five consecutive shutouts during the postseason.

Reed was then eliminated by Rancho 12-0. Spanish Springs will face Rancho for the State Championship at 12pm at Hixson Park. The Cougars are searching for their fourth State title in school history; and their first since 2010.

It will be an All-Southern match-up in the Division I-A State Championship; and it will be a rematch. Spring Valley beat Boulder City 13-3, dropping the Eagles into the loser's bracket. Boulder City then eliminated Fallon, 12-5, to reach the championship.

There is another Northern team in the Division III Championship. Lovelock came out of the loser's bracket, beating Needles and Yerington to reach the title game. The Mustangs upset the top-seeded Lions 7-6.

Lovelock will face Lincoln County in the title game at 10am at Shadow Mountain Sports Complex. The Mustangs would have to beat the Lynx twice to win their first State title in school history.

In Division IV, Wells will take on Pahranagat Valley for the championship. That begins at 10am at Shadow Mountain.
