SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO)-- The Nevada Highway Patrol has released the name of a pedestrian killed on the Pyramid Highway Sunday.

Shortly before 6PM November 19, 2017, troopers were called to SR445 near Spring Ridge Drive, north of Los Altos Parkway, for a crash involving an SUV and a pedestrian.

The preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a Ford Expedition was headed south in the right lane, approaching the intersection with Spring Ridge Drive. The driver reports not seeing the pedestrian in the lane and was unable to stop or avoid hitting him.

Troopers say 25-year-old Kody Nicholas Strong of Sparks was wearing dark clothing and there was no overhead lighting in the area. He was pronounced dead at the scene after being hit.

Trooper Chris Kelly of the Nevada Highway Patrol’s Multi-disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team is investigating this crash. Anyone who witnessed it or have any information about it is asked to contact Trooper Kelly at 775-687-9649 or ckelly@dps.state.nv.us regarding case #171101937.
