Proposed smoking ban in Reno Parks moves forward

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Reno is one step closer to a 100-percent smoking ban in all city parks.

Thomas Petersen, a Reno Recreation and Parks Commissioner, says the vote passed Tuesday night 7-0 at the McKinley Arts Center. Petersen also sells commercials for KOLO 8 News Now.

A partial smoking ban was considered to see how it would be accepted, but the commission decided to take an all-or-nothing approach on this issue.

The proposal now heads to the Reno City Council for a vote at a later date.
