RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The Washoe County Sheriff's Office on Parr Boulevard is back open following an investigation into a suspicious package.

According to Bob Harmon with the Washoe County Sheriff's Office, a man received the package at home, saw some sort of white substance on it, and took it to the Sheriff's Office.

Harmon says there was no threat the community, and the building at 911 E. Parr Boulevard was closed as a precaution.

The white substance was deemed not hazardous, although it's not clear what the substance was.

Harmon is reminding the community that if you receive a suspicious package, call authorities immediately, but do not take the package to the Sheriff's Office.
