SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO) -- Sparks Police say an 85-year-old California woman was behind the wheel of a Toyota four-door sedan that hit a six-year-old boy Monday afternoon.

Police say the woman was driving west on Disc Drive shortly before 5PM February 19, 2018 when she hit a bicycle ramp in the street along the gutter line. The ramp was thrown forward and hit the boy, who was also westbound, on a bicycle. The force of the collision knocked him off his bike and into the street. Police say the driver then drove over the boy as he tried to stand up.

The boy was unconscious after the incident and taken to Renown Medical Center by REMSA for treatment of critical injuries.
