INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. (KOLO) - 30-year-old Steven Timothy Gant was found at the Hyatt in Incline Village just after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday. He is on his way back to the correctional center and will not be allowed back onto a work crew.

The Nevada Department of Corrections (NDOC) was asking the public to be on the lookout for the minimum security inmate, who walked from a work detail in the forest north of Lake Tahoe Tuesday afternoon.

He had been housed at the Stewart Conservation Camp in south Carson City, and was on a work detail near Incline Village with Nevada Division of Forestry (NDF). He walked away around 2 p.m. January 2, 2017.

Gant was serving two to nine years from Washoe County for Burglary and Grand Larceny of a Motor Vehicle. His work detail involved hazardous fuel reduction near Incline.

A "retake" warrant was issued, leading to his recapture. Staff from NDOC, NDF, the Inspector General’s Office and Washoe County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the search.
