RENO, Nev. (KOLO) Reno 1868 soccer player Matheus Silva has come out of his coma, according to a report by CSNCalifornia, Silva Out of Coma.

Silva was hospitalized on Tuesday after nearly drowning at Zephyr Cove in Lake Tahoe. He was pulled from the water and resuscitated on-scene. He's been in Renown ever since.

He's now breathing on his own and able to communicate. His teammate Lindo Mfecka tweeted today that he spoke with him this morning.

A source told CSNCalifornia.com that Silva is scheduled to be moved out of the intensive care unit as early as Friday morning.

Silva is with Reno on loan from the San Jose Earthquakes. He has appeared in just two games this season.
