Police believe reckless driving led to Stead motorcycle death

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The Reno Police Department says reckless driving appears to have caused to a fatal motorcycle accident Thursday afternoon in Stead.

Police said they got the call of the crash about 4:06 p.m. September 28, 2017 at 6645 Echo Ave. First responders found a 50-year-old man dead from a motorcycle crash.

“At this time, it appears that the aforementioned motorcyclist was riding recklessly in a parking lot, lost control of his motorcycle and struck a curb,” police said. Speed appears to be a factor but alcohol and other drugs are not suspected.

The man’s name is not being released pending notification of next of kin.
