Reno Police name man arrested in alleged NW Reno house burglary

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Reno Police have booked 23-year-old Matthew Sarabia in the Washoe County Jail in connection with a standoff in northwest Reno. He's facing burglary and obstructing and resisting officers charges.

Police say a report of a residential burglary in progress was reported at 11:00AM March 20, 2017 in the 6000 block of Starfire Lane, near Mae Anne and Sharlands. The resident had interrupted the apparent burglary.

Officers set up a perimeter around the home. Information was received that the man was possibly armed with a handgun. Due to the possibility the man was barricaded inside the home and armed, Reno Police SWAT and negotiators responded to assist.

Officer Tim Broadway says the man was safely talked out about 4:30PM. No one was hurt.
