OLYMPIC VALLEY, Calif. (KOLO) -- The U.S. Forest Service and Placer County have released the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposed Squaw Valley | Alpine Meadows Base-to-Base Gondola Project.

The more than two-mile project would include multiple towers and avalanche mitigation exploders.
A public meeting will be held Tuesday, May 22 at 3 p.m. at the Truckee Ranger District Office.
A second meeting will be held at the Placer County Planning Commission meeting Thursday, May 24 at 10 a.m. at North Tahoe Events Center in Kings Beach.
Last day to submit public comment is June 11, 2018.
