RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - A pedestrian was taken to a hospital with a head injury after being struck by the driver of a sports utility vehicle Friday night on South Virginia Street across the street from the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa.

Southbound South Virginia Street has been reopened. The woman's injury was not life-threatening, the Reno Police Department said.
The injured pedestrian, a woman in her 30s, stepped into traffic with the right of way about 6:56 p.m. December 29, 2017, Reno police said. The driver was not under the influence of alcohol and is cooperating with police.
