Suspect and victim identified in fatal Tahoe shooting

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (KOLO) - South Lake Tahoe Police have arrested a man for the fatal shooting of another man over the weekend.

62-year-old Roy Figaro is under arrest, accused of killing 44-year-old Christopher Kitchen of South Lake Tahoe.

Just before 5:30PM June 30, 2018, police were called to the Tahoe Verde Mobile Home Park in the 1000 block of Julie Lane, where shots had been fired. They found Kitchen lying in the road with gunshot wounds. He was taken to Barton Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

With the help of the El Dorado County Sheriff’s
Department, State Park Rangers, and The California Highway Patrol, a perimeter was established around a home where the alleged shooter was barricaded inside. Officers evacuated nearby homes as a precaution.

With Special Weapons And Tactics, the Crisis Negotiator Team and SLTPD detectives on-scene, Figaro surrendered and was taken into custody.
