Olympian David Wise returns to Reno

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) -- Gold Medalist David Wise is back home from the Winter Olympics and enjoyed time with his family and friends.

The Olympian celebrated with his loved ones at a private party at Novi Lounge at the Eldorado Resort Casino.

Wise, who grew up in Reno, defended his gold medal for the Men's Ski Half Pipe in Pyeongchang and he says it's good to be back home.

"There is a reason I call this place home, I love it here. I think we have all kind of caught on a really well-kept secret that this is an amazing place to live. To have the support from the community and to be able to share this Gold Medal, I really do feel like this is not my Gold Medal, it's ours," said Wise.

Wise finally returned to Reno March 2, 2018 around 9:30 pm after his flight was diverted to Sacramento because of the weather.
