RENO, Nev. (KOLO) Wolf Pack freshman forward Josh Hall was taken to an area hospital on Wednesday night following a hard foul in their win over San Jose State.

Hall went up for a dunk late in the first half and was taken out by the Spartans' Brandon Mitchell. He landed awkwardly hitting his head on the basketball stand.

"It's just an unfortunate situation that happens in sports," said head coach Eric Musselman. "There was contact and Josh had already left his feet.

Hall was immobilized and taken off the court on a stretcher.

Musselman said after the game that he didn't know the full extent of Hall's injury, but said it appeared to be a head injury.

"He was coherent in the ambulance and was responsive," added Musselman. "So that's really good because when it happened it was a scary situation."

Musselman said he does expect to have him back with the team when he's cleared to play again.

The Wolf Pack beat San Jose State 80-55 to improve to 12-2 overall, and 1-0 in conference play.
