Name released of biker killed in crash near Tonopah

TONOPAH, Nev. (KOLO) - The Nevada Highway Patrol has released the name of a man killed in a motorcycle crash Monday.

About 1:45PM June 11, 2018, troopers responded to the crash on US-6 in Esmeralda County, about 15 miles west of Tonopah, involving a motorcycle and a passenger car.

The preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a Lexus sedan was headed east on US 6 toward Tonopah, and crossed into the westbound lane to pass another vehicle. The driver didn't see the motorcycle and hit it, throwing the rider.

The rider has been identified as 68-year-old John Wright of British Columbia. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

NHP says the driver of the Lexus is cooperating with the investigation. Impairment is not suspected.
