RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe is no longer for sale, according to a release from the resort.

The resort will continue to be managed by the local Buser family.

The owners had wanted to sell as early as January 2016, but didn't get the desired offers.

Fritz Buser, who has owned it since 1971, is giving majority control to his family, with current management staying in place. His son Kurt has been executive president for the last 20 years and will remain there, as will General Manager Paul Senft, in that position since 1992.
